• Green Smoothies are amazing!

Last night I offered my FREE Green Smoothie Info Session.  It was a great success!  Success happens, in my mind, when I can be part of helping people on how to incorporate healthy eating and movement (cuz thats what I do everyday).  Our discussion included how and why to incorporate green smoothies into your diet.  There are some details you should be aware of to get started.

We also had a great discussion on what changes I have felt.  It is sometimes difficult to explain to people how general wellbeing feels.  I think we sometimes don’t even realize that we can have more energy and feel better.  Have you ever heard, “ we don’t know what we don’t know”.  Never stop exploring and learning!!  Improved health, increased energy, longevity may take some effort to make changes in your life, but the trade off is sooo worth it.  Who doesn’t want to feel great from the inside out?

Other changes I have noticed are less fluctuations in my blood sugar levels (a battle I’ve struggled with for years).  Steady blood sugar levels help decrease our urge to eat unhealthy foods and lessens fat storage.  Yeah gotta want that, uh?

So, I hope you consider joining this challenge.  Anyone can do it, even if you don’t live here, and you can start anytime between now and June 30th.

Thanks to those who came last night.  I am so excited to be part of helping you. Please email me with any questions darcy@soulista.com.

  • One of my new passions: GREEN SMOOTHIES FOR LIFE

For as long as I can remember I have always watched what I eat.  Although not perfect, to my standards anyway, I feel I do a pretty good job. I want a full healthy, active life and I believe your diet in a MAJOR part to maintaining balance in your life.

I have been consuming smoothies for years, mostly for breakfast.  On occasion I would add greens like spinach or kale, but would sometimes turn my nose up to adding them for breakfast.  In recent months I have been doing some more research on how to make my morning meal/smoothies really stand up to the amount of nutrition I need in my diet.  The answer was definately to add greens. As a vegetarian who is pretty physically active and always, actually daily,  reviewing my diet I felt this was a easy way to get more nutrition and found that the blending of smoothies made it easier to absorb that nutrtion.  I frequently recieve the question, how do you get enough protein?  I have experimented and followed recommended recipes and have found some amazing changes and information about the green benefit.  And, yes you do receive protein from greens.

  • Combine the element of Thai Yoga Therapy into your practice

This is me doing Thai Yoga on Brenda

When I started Soulista I wanted to be able to practice my passion of yoga, pilates, and Thai Yoga Therapy.  I believe they each have numerous benefits not only for me to teach and practice, but to also offer to the community.  Often people will approach yoga and or pilates looking for a safe, non-impact way to exercise while hoping to achieve more balance in their bodies and  in their lives.  That is exactly what I am looking for in the services I offer.  So, I write this to offer you insight in what Thai Yoga Therapy can do for you to keep that balance.

Thai Yoga Therapy is relatively new in our area, but growing by leaps and bounds.   While practicing yoga and pilates will definately offer you all the benefits I promise, you may want to consider adding Thai Yoga Therapy to the mix.  The stretching in yoga feels amazing and you  leave feeling more energized.  The core strengthening in Pilates gives you support and stability while also increasing your  range of motion .  Well,  Thai Yoga Therapy will get into the nooks and crannies that are missed.  Yoga can’t necessarily get to all the spots where there are knots and adhesions.  You could compare it to flossing your teeth.  If you fail to floss all the way around each tooth you get plague buildup, infection, and possibly disease.  The same thing happens in our bodies if we don’t move completely into all the joint spaces where motion is possible.  This sets our bodies up for injury.

Thai Yoga Therapy can bring circulation back into your tissues, and this is important because their are sensory and motor neurons inside those tissues that are affected when blood flow is impeded.  Everyone wants to be able to move without pain and tightness.  Thai Yoga Therapy has many benefits which I list on my website but the value of effortless movement and  increased awareness of how you perceive your body is invaluable.  So while you are picking up your kids, cooking dinner, or possibly sandbagging – you would be able to run more efficiently, able to prevent injury, and are happier and more at peace with yourself.

I welcome your comments and questions.
